Description
Into the Gathering Storm is one of four original drawings in Of Earth and Instinct, a collection exploring the horse’s connection to landscape, freedom and the instincts that bind a herd together.
Three horses gather beneath a shifting sky. Their manes lift in the wind, and each seems alert to something beyond the picture. Set against the gathering darkness, their pale forms and closeness give the drawing both energy and a sense of unity.
Created freehand in graphite, charcoal and PanPastel on Arches hot pressed paper, the work brings finely observed detail together with expressive marks and layered tones. The open sky gives the approaching storm its presence, while the horses remain the heart of the piece: attentive, connected and facing what comes together.
FRAMED – The original is professionally framed in natural oak with a slim charcoal inner oak frame, carefully chosen to complement the drawing.
