WILD REPOSE

Wild Repose is the fourth original drawing in Of Earth and Instinct, a collection exploring freedom, connection and the instincts that draw horses together.

Three horses rest in a close, overlapping group. One lifts its head with its eyes closed, while another lowers its gaze beneath a loose forelock. Their bodies meet and flow into one another, giving the drawing a sense of warmth and ease within the herd. Against the softly shifting sky, the horses seem entirely comfortable in each other’s company.

Created freehand in graphite, charcoal and PanPastel on Arches hot pressed paper, the drawing brings fine detail to the horses’ expressions and manes, while gentle layers of tone shape their interwoven forms. Wild Repose captures a moment of shared rest: the quiet assurance of belonging to a herd.

FRAMED – The original is professionally framed in natural oak with a slim charcoal inner oak frame, carefully chosen to complement the drawing. Conservation grade, acid free materials protect the artwork, while museum quality Artglass reduces reflections and provides UV protection, allowing the detail and texture to be enjoyed clearly.
