Description
GUNTON STAG captures a moment of quiet authority within the parkland of the historic Gunton Estate in North Norfolk, where the stag stands alert at the threshold between managed landscape and wilder ground. The composition reflects stillness, dominance and awareness, held within a broader sense of seasonal change and inherited landscape.
Rendered in monochrome with meticulous attention to texture, light and atmosphere, the work focuses on the stag’s imposing antlers and unwavering gaze emerging through soft grasses and shadow. The drawing celebrates the raw beauty of the British countryside and the enduring character of Norfolk’s wildlife, inviting the viewer into an intimate encounter with one of the region’s most iconic animals.
