FRAMING + The Creative Process
FRAMING + The Creative Process
FROM BLANK PAPER to FRAMED LEGACY
Creating a piece of art can take me anywhere from a month to a full year. Each drawing is painstakingly built—mark by mark.
These artworks are born from intention and emotion. I aim to capture a mood, a moment, a presence—something that speaks softly but with quiet confidence from within the frame.
I strive to create what you won’t often find on the market: work that is unique, colourful, emotive, and entirely hand-drawn. No projections, no digital shortcuts—just pencil, paper, time, and heart. From the first spark of an idea to the final stroke, I love watching a blank sheet evolve into a figure, a spirit, a story.
Framing That Complements, Not Competes
Every frame is selected with great care—chosen to enhance the tone, texture, and palette of the artwork it surrounds. I work closely with a trusted local framer to ensure each piece is finished to the highest museum-quality standard. No shortcuts. No compromises.
These are forever pieces, made to last—and to live beautifully in the spaces you love most.
You’ll find my framed originals and commissions in:
- Country homes and cottages
- Boutique hotels and rural shooting lodges
- Equestrian offices and farm shops
- And of course—your own living room or workspace
Choosing the Right Glass for You
All framing is completed using conservation-grade materials, archival mounts, and can be fully customised to your preferences.
GLASS OPTIONS
Most artworks come with standard float glass as default—but at Deckled Edge, I offer Artglass as a premium upgrade:
Artglass:
- Virtually invisible clarity
- No colour distortion
- Up to 70% UV protection
- A clean, anti-reflective finish—ideal for detailed work
Standard Float Glass:
- A reliable, cost-effective option for casual display
- Clear, simple
You’re always welcome to discuss which option best suits your space and your piece.
FRAMED
Your original art or print will be professionally framed using the highest-quality materials to perfectly complement the artwork. Working alongside my expert framer, we select every element with care—using:
- Museum-grade, acid-free backing boards
- Extra-wide, conservation-quality mounts for limited edition fine-art prints
- High-end luxury wooden frames
- Premium Artglass to reduce glare, enhance clarity, and block harmful UV rays
This ensures the truest possible colours and textures are revealed—without green tint or distortion.
Finished with (a wide display mount for limited edition fine-art prints), luxurious wooden frames, these pieces are substantial and impactful—ready to command a presence in any space.
UNFRAMED
Your print will be handled with the utmost care—wrapped in acid-free tissue paper and shipped flat in a protective box.
Please Note: Oversized prints are delicate—avoid touching the printed area and always handle with clean hands or gloves, touching only the edges. Use a soft brush if dust removal is necessary, or leave this step to your framer.
Allow 2–3 weeks for printing and shipping. Each fine art print is made to order, hand-editioned, and signed by me with care.
Whether my artwork takes weeks or quiet months to complete, each piece is a true labour of love. Framing is the final chapter—transforming pencil and paper into something permanent, meaningful, and ready to bring life, spirit, and personality to your walls.
With thanks and warmth,
