Commission a Portrait that becomes part of your legacy

A bespoke experience for those who cherish timeless beauty.

Every portrait I create is more than a likeness — it's a heartfelt tribute, a captured moment, and a lifelong keepsake. From the first conversation to the final pencil stroke, I pour care, craftsmanship, and soul into every piece. Working in the finest coloured pencils on museum-grade paper, I specialise in creating emotive, richly detailed portraits that honour the true essence of your loved one — whether that be a loyal pet, a cherished family member, or an animal that holds a place in your heart.

A Personal and Intentional Process

I take on only a limited number of commissions each year to ensure every client receives my full attention. From the moment you reach out, this becomes a shared journey. I take time to understand your story, your subject, and the special connection you hold — because true art begins with empathy. Together, we’ll choose the perfect size, layout, and reference photos, and I’ll guide you through every step — including helping you select the best images if you’re unsure where to begin.

Preparing for Your Portrait

To create an artwork that’s as true-to-life as it is timeless, high-resolution photos are essential. Ideally, these should be well-lit headshots taken at the animal’s eye level, showing their unique expression and character. Don’t worry if you need guidance — I’ll help you capture exactly what’s needed. In the case of memorial portraits, I will always do my best to work sensitively with the photos you have.

Materials That Last a Lifetime

Your portrait will be created using lightfast, artist-grade coloured pencils on archival, acid-free paper — materials chosen specifically for their richness, longevity, and ability to hold fine detail. The result is a one-of-a-kind artwork made to last for generations.

Timelines and Booking

Every portrait is a labour of love — and they do take time. Depending on the size, subject, and complexity, a piece can take anywhere from 3 weeks to 6 months. If you need your artwork completed for a specific occasion, please do reach out early. To secure your commission, a 20–25% non-refundable deposit is required. I’ll provide a clear breakdown of everything we agree upon — and if you'd prefer to pay in instalments, that's absolutely something we can arrange.

The Creative Journey

As your portrait comes to life, you’ll have the option to follow its progress on my social media channels, or emailed to you direct — a lovely way to see the layers and love going into your piece. When complete, your portrait arrives beautifully presented, accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity and an insight into the inspiration behind your piece.

Delivery & Beyond

UK delivery is included in the cost, and I’ll hand-deliver locally where possible. If you're based internationally, we’ll discuss shipping options during the booking process. I also offer guidance on framing and mounting to ensure your artwork is showcased to its full potential.

Print Editions + Licensing

You can select one of the preferences below:
- Exclusive rights (no prints made)
- Partial rights (we may sell editions later)

Every artwork is drawn entirely by hand – no tracing, no digital help. Rich, layered realism – capturing fine details like fur flow, feather texture, reflective eyes, and subtle shadows. Atmospheric backgrounds – soft settings that enhance your subject without overpowering it. Materials built to last – museum-quality pencils and archival paper. Time – most pieces take 20–200+ hours depending on scale and complexity.
